About us

Tim Watkins has been studying, practicing, competing in, and teaching martial arts for over 40 years. He holds 5 Black Belts in 5 different martial arts systems: 4th Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor in Songahm Tae Kwon Do through the American Tae Kwon Do Association (ATA), 1st Degree Black Belt in Chung Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do through the American Chung Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do Association (ACTA), 1st Degree Black Belt in Ji Do Kwon Tae Kwon Do through the Wold Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF), Advanced Instructor Diploma in the Filipino Martial Art of Cabales Serrada Eskrima (Stick & Blade Fighting), and Certified Instructor in Tacosa Serrada Eskrima. He has studied extensively in Jeet Kune Do (Bruce Lee's original martial philosophies and concepts), Filipino Martial Arts, and other Southeast Asian martial arts. He is a Certified Instructor in Joint Manipulation & Locking Techniques and Sexual Harassment, Assault & Rape Prevention (SHARP) through Protech Training Systems, and a Certified Professional Fitness Instructor through PRO-FIT (inactive). He is Co-Founder of the Inaugural U.S. Coast Guard Martial Arts Club and served as President of the Cypress College Martial Arts Club in Cypress, CA. He has completed the U.S. Coast Guard's certification course in Aerosol Subject Restraint (OC Pepper Spray), the Boy Scouts of America Youth Protection Program, and is First Aid & CPR Certified. He has owned and operated martial arts schools and clubs, and taught privately all over the United States and Guam, Mariana Islands since 1982. Tim is also a retired 25-year military officer with specialized military combatives training.
